Joy With Shannon — Shannon Butt

At Joy With Shannon, we honour the connections that shape our work: the land we gather on, the communities that hold us, and the individuals who share their stories and experiences with care and vulnerability.

We acknowledge that our work takes place on the traditional, unceded, and unsurrendered territories of the Algonquin Anishinaabe People, whose presence and stewardship extend long before the creation of the province of Ontario and continue to this day. We recognize their enduring relationship with the land, water, and all living beings, and we commit to engaging with this truth with respect, humility, and ongoing learning.

We also acknowledge the emotional, spiritual, and lived experiences that clients bring into their sessions—stories shaped by identity, community, ancestry, and personal journey. We honour this trust. We honour the courage it takes to show up. And we hold space with deep respect for the lineages, cultures, and histories that inform each person’s path.

This acknowledgment is not a final statement, but a living commitment:

  • to keep learning and unlearning

  • to practice in ways that centre safety, inclusion, and equity

  • to honour the land and the people who have cared for it

  • to ensure our work supports healing that is accessible, grounded, and accountable

  •

Joy With Shannon is dedicated to fostering spaces—online and in person—where all people feel welcomed, supported, and valued.
